so i had a thought today at work.
How old is this world we're creating? is it millions of years old like ours, or is younger, say 10,000 years?
i know robert has put together an ancient civilization that fell to ruins, but was it the first or merely one of many?
im in favor of the young world thats still mostly unexplored. maybe the coastlines have been settled but the interior of most of the continents still hold danger and mystery.
primordial forests, dark and foreboding, home to mysterious creatures and ancient evils. places where the primal magics hold sway and the veil between this world and the lands of the fey is at its thinnest, allowing travel between the two worlds.
vast deserts filled with shifting sands and hot enough to bake the salt out of your body. what dangers lie beneath the swirling sands? only the dead know for sure.
great plains and savannahs stretching for hundreds or even thousands of miles. home to clans of nomadic centaurs and minotaur tribes. great herds roam these plains hunted by vicious predators, predators that would view even humans as a food source.
mountains, young and tall, jut from the earth reaching for the clouds. the mountains, untouched by erosion, have jagged walls and sharp peaks. their roots travel deep into the earth, unexplored by even the bravest of miners. what secrets are hidden beneath these massive sentinels?
thoughts?
